Practice to Policy Series

Keeping the Faith:
Uniting DV, Homeless, Legal &
Faith-based Communities

We invite you to come and discuss ways to make these systems work together to benefit survivors.
*Exchange ideas and best practices.
*Solve problems and deepen alliances.
*Learn from each other.
WHY: Encourage Collaboration.
A battered person interfaces with several systems in order to seek help and safety; emergency shelter, legal assistance, law enforcement, the courts, and spiritual support.  Even though these entities all seek the best for the survivor, the particular methodologies, messages, and language used by each entity can be confusing and appear to be at cross purposes.
Community advocates, faith communities, families, practitioners, policy makers, legal advocates, educators, consumers and others to inform policy.
